**校 means school
学校 means school
生 means life

Ni hao. Wo jiao Wangming. Wo shi xuesheng.
Hello. My name is Wangming. I am a student.

他是谁？
他是台理查。他是老师。
Ta shi shei?
Ta shi Tai Licha. Ta shi laoshi.
Who is he?
He is Tai Licha. He is a teacher.

* Here we have 学, a verb. From now on, when I introduce verbs, I’ll be sure to put to ___ in the meaning to show that it is a verb.

** You may have noticed that 校 and 学校 have the same meaning. This is true. I’m not entirely sure when it’s alright to use 校 by itself but I believe 学校 is more commonly used.
